Far East Development Ministry discusses subsidies for infrastructure construction in the Arctic

The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic is considering the introduction of subsidies for the construction of infrastructure in the Arctic zone, said Deputy Minister Alexander Krutikov.

According to Krutikov, the ministry will present a comprehensive program to support business in the Arctic at the upcoming 9th International Forum The Arctic:  Today and the Future, which will take place on December 5-7 in St. Petersburg.

"We are preparing a series of separate mechanisms, for instance, subsidies for the construction of infrastructure for new businesses in the Arctic zone," Krutikov said at a news conference, Arctic Regions: New Opportunities, ahead of the forum.

On December 5-7, St. Petersburg will host the 9th International Forum The Arctic: Today and the Future, which will bring together some 2,500 participants.
