The expedition’s vessel.
Members of the Where Thames Meets Yenisei expedition have located two ships that sank in the 19th century. Explorers Nikolai Karelin and Alexander Goncharov boarded an inflatable catamaran with sails and sailed along the Yenisei River and its tributaries, conducted depth soundings and studied archives. They found the site where the schooner Northern Lights sank and marked the area with a memorial cross.
