Grants allocated in Yamal to representatives of indigenous peoples of the North who keep traditional lifestyle

The Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area has launched a competition for grants, the goal of which is to preserve the traditional environment and lifestyle of —minority indigenous peoples of the North,   the official website of the autonomous area reports.

Grants worth 200,000 rubles will be given to  individuals who belong to minority indigenous peoples of the North who produce folk crafts. In 2017, up to four grants have been offered in this category.

Apart from that, up to five grants of 700,000 rubles each have been allocated for the development of small forms of the economy of minority indigenous  peoples of the North who carry out traditional economic activities.

Applications can be submitted to the Department for the Affairs of Indigenous Minority Peoples of the North of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area until April 5.
