Textbooks in 15 Northern languages to be published under the Arctic development state program

There are plans to print 12,000 textbooks in 15 languages of the peoples of the North under the Arctic development state program.

"Children from indigenous peoples of the North [speak] 15 languages, so the textbooks on the Arctic and Arctic studies for various grades will be for them," said Minister for the Development of the Far East and Arctic Alexander Kozlov at an online news conference called Development of the Russian Arctic Zone: New Incentives for Businesses.

Kozlov also added that a subprogram envisaged subsidizing regions' expenses for organizing recreation for 120,000 school students in the summer.

The idea to resume the Children of the Arctic project belongs to Deputy Minister for the Development of the Far East and Arctic Alexander Krutikov, which he shared at the forum The Arctic: Today and the Future last December.
