Lukoil, Nenets Autonomous Area agree to cooperate

Igor Koshin, Governor of the Nenets Autonomous Area, and Lukoil CEO Vagit Alekperov have signed a protocol to a bilateral cooperation agreement, the governor's press service said.

The agreement gives Lukoil the right to produce over five million metric tons of crude oil in the autonomous area, while allowing other companies to use the Kharyaga-Usa oil pipeline. Lukoil is also responsible for delivering petroleum, oil and lubricants to the region's companies and population.

In its regional activities, the oil company should honor the interests of small indigenous Northern ethnic groups and primarily work with local companies, including emergency services, airlines and medical organizations.
