Gazprom may place orders for subsea production equipment for Arctic projects with Russian companies

Gazprom has opened a tender on the website for government procurement under which contractors are to prepare financial and economic feasibility studies substantiating Gazprom's participation in the creation of subsea production equipment by Russian companies, TASS reported.

Gazprom plans to pay 23.4 million rubles for this.

"Gazprom's Gas, Gas Condensate and Oil Production Department will use the results of this tender when considering contracts for the creation and production of subsea production equipment and technology for Arctic shelf development by Russian companies," the company said in the technical specifications for the tender.

The winner will be obliged to analyze Gazprom's practice of using foreign subsea drilling technology and requirements for offshore production equipment, and also to suggest the main forms of Gazprom's involvement in investment projects to create and produce subsea equipment.

In 2011, Gazprom approved an updated program for hydrocarbon resource development on the Russian shelf until 2030, which stipulates a comprehensive approach aimed at a more rational use of equipment and infrastructure during offshore projects.
