More than 1,000 tourists visited Russian Arctic National Park this summer

As many as 1,079 tourists visited Russian Arctic National Park in the Arkhangelsk Region during the 2018 tourist season, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment reports.

In the summer, there were 10 cruises with three different itineraries in Russia's largest natural protected area. All trips were escorted by state inspectors from the national park.

As usual, visitors were given the opportunity to make zodiac cruises and landings in the most attractive places within the Novaya Zemlya Archipelago and Franz Josef Land. Tourists learned the history of the Russian Arctic and its flora and fauna, and they were able to watch polar bears, Atlantic walruses, bowhead whales, sea birds, white whales and seals in their natural habitat.
