Arctic state commission experts to discuss tourism at first session

The research and expert council of the State Commission for Arctic Development will discuss tourism development at its founding session, which will be chaired by Artur Chilingarov, Special Presidential Representative for International Cooperation in the Arctic and Antarctic, the Council for the Study of Productive Forces told Rossiya Segodnya.

"The session will highlight the development of Arctic tourism and eco-tourism, and also ways to support the indigenous ethnic groups living in Russia's Arctic," the council said.

Participating in the session will be members of the Council for the Study of Productive Forces: Alexei Konovalov, deputy research head of the World Ocean and the Arctic section, and Galina Baturova, head of the department for regional development of maritime activities.
