17th Spartakiade held in Vorkuta
Polar Games-2015, the 17th Spartakiade tournament of Northern peoples, are being held in Vorkuta on October 29-November 8.
The tournament involves more than 1,100 athletes from 19 Russian cities this year.
The athletes will compete in boxing, Greco-Roman wrestling, women's and men's basketball, volleyball, swimming, ice hockey, futsal, judo, cross-country skiing, gymnastics and kettlebell lifting.
The cultural part of the tournament includes the traditional reindeer sleigh racing and a national costume competition.
