Group of Chinese tourists visits Nenets Autonomous Area

Tourists from the People's Republic of China visited the Nenets Autonomous Area on a weekend package tour called "Visiting Reindeer," developed by Mosturflot travel company, the local government of the Nenets Autonomous Area reports on its website.

The travelers visited the Nenets Local History Museum, a guest nomads' camp on Lake Molodyozhnoye, and the Kharp farming cooperative. The tour also included fishing, snowmobile and reindeer riding, traditional Northern cuisine tasting, and ethnic craft workshops. At the end of the tour, the guests received certificates confirming their visit to the Nenets Autonomous Area.

Zhu Liang, leader of the group and chief representative of China Southern Airlines in Russia, noted that Chinese tourists are also interested in snowmobile, helicopter and other trips around the area.

It is planned that over the January holidays, the Nenets Autonomous Area, in cooperation with Russia's major travel companies, will receive about 40 tourists on package tours.

The Nenets Autonomous Area has been promoted in the travel services market this year. As part of this promotional campaign, two tours were arranged, including "Accessible Arctic" and "Open Your Arctic." The local government signed a cooperation agreement with the Russian Association of Travel Companies.
