Nenets Autonomous Area to host annual fishing competition

On July 10, Lake Kharitonovka in the Nenets Autonomous Area will host a traditional fishing competition to mark Fisherman's Day, reports the official Nenets government website. The event is to involve about 40-60 amateur fishermen from Naryan-Mar, the area's capital, and nearby communities, as well as over 100 fans.

The competitions will take place in the following categories: the first fish caught, the heaviest catch, the largest and smallest fish caught and the most experienced older and younger fishermen. The participants will also have to do their homework and suggest an event logo.

The event is called on to promote an active and healthy lifestyle among local residents, inbound tourism and family leisure.
