The 3rd Teriberka New Life Arctic Festival

The town of Teriberka, in Russia's Murmansk Region, will host the third annual Teriberka New Life Arctic Festival, the region's media relations directorate reports.

Tatiana Russkova, the Murmansk Region's Deputy Minister for Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Promotion, said the upcoming festival would focus on business and educational agendas. The five festival areas include architectural-urban developments, traditional crafts, food and gastro-tourism, sport tourism and eco-tourism. They will present the town's potential growth points.

The architectural-urban area will feature well-known architecture firms and authors from the United States, Norway and the Netherlands. Yakutsk, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg and Moscow will represent Russia. Well-known biologists, ornithologists, photographers and environmentalists will popularize eco-tourism potential. To display the North's gastronomic diversity, the participants will cook meals from unique local foods. A separate area is dedicated to local souvenirs, crafts and folklore. Festival guests will watch music performances by the Teriberka choir, rock groups and electronic-music celebrities.

The festival's official opening ceremony is scheduled for 11 am July 15.
