Plans are in the pipeline for a virtual geophysics laboratory on the Yamal Peninsula, Vesti online newspaper reports. The Yamal Technological Park, the RAS Institute of Space Research, the Pushkov Institute of Terrestrial Magnetism, Ionosphere and Radio Wave Propagation and the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute have partnered to develop the project.

The virtual laboratory will consist of a website that posts recent geophysical studies and articles on the ozone layer and the influence of solar activity on high-precision equipment and inhabitants of the Russian north.

The project was presented in Moscow at a RAS Institute of Space Studies seminar on observations, databases and information systems used in oil and gas exploration.
