Russia's Nenets Autonomous Area to have its first wind-diesel power station
The construction of the Nenets Autonomous Area's first wind-diesel power station has begun in the village of Amderma, the Nenets Administration's press service reported.
Workers are currently mounting a wind turbine and diesel power equipment, with an overall completion date set before the end of the year.
The station will have three additional diesel generators, wind turbines, and completely new switchgear. The efforts will result in greater flexibility for the station, which in windy weather will rely exclusively on wind power.
"Sustainable energy will reduce both diesel consumption and the load on the power station," the press service said.
