The construction of the Zapolyarye — Purpe — Samotlor oil pipeline is proceeding according to schedule and is expected to be completed in 2016, Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area Dmitry Kobylkin said at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin.

"Next year, we plan to complete the construction. The relevant infrastructure — kindergartens and schools — is being built on time," Kobylkin said.

According to the Governor, there are 13,000 people involved in the construction of the Yamal LNG plant. The Novatek company has begun the assembly of the first block, he said. "I believe that the plant will be commissioned as planned," Kobylkin said, adding that the plant's launch is scheduled for 2018.
