Roscosmos: Russian space program pays insufficient attention to the Arctic

The current Federal Space Program pays insufficient attention to developing Arctic research space systems, Roscosmos Head Igor Komarov told RIA Novosti.

"For various reasons, insufficient attention has been paid to the Arctic and the forming of orbit groups," Komarov told a news conference in Moscow.

According to Komarov, the current program failed to include many research programs, including Arctic study programs. The reason is "financial optimization."
