Deputy PM urges economic assistance for indigenous peoples

According to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, the indigenous peoples of the Upper North should receive economic leverage to preserve and boost their cultural potential, TASS reports.

"Indigenous people, although small in number, live in the Arctic. The Arctic is their homeland, the area of their cultural and everyday life. It is important to create economic levers for preserving and expanding the potential of the unique culture of the peoples of the Russian North," he said.
