The 12th General Assembly of the Northern Forum will convene in Yakutsk, Russia, on November 4-6. The meeting will be titled Global Challenges — Local Solutions and will sum up the results of Yakutia's four-year presidency of the assembly, according to the press service of the Governor of the Republic of Sakha — Yakutia.

"Our goal is to create a strong interregional organization that will have a say in the Arctic community," said Vladimir Vasilyev, Yakutia's Minister for Federative and External Relations.

He said the 12th General Assembly agenda includes meetings of the Board of Governors and the Regional Coordinators Committee and panel discussions on sustainable development issues in the Arctic and subnational regions of the North amid global changes.

The 12th General Assembly will be attended by the leaders and other representatives of the Northern Forum member regions, business leaders, experts and project coordinators.
