2017 RAO/CIS Offshore conference to discuss oil and gas development in the Arctic

On September 12-15, 2017, St. Petersburg will host the 13th International Conference and Exhibition for Oil and Gas Resources Development of the Russian Arctic and Continental Shelf, 2017 RAO/CIS Offshore, in compliance with the order of the Russian Government.

The participants will discuss major factors that prevent geological exploration of the Arctic seas, the main projects concerning oil and gas field development of the Arctic shelf, conceptual designs of shore-based energy infrastructures that enable the development of the Arctic shelf resources, creating atlases of geological maps of the circumpolar Arctic, and other subjects.

To mark the Year of Environment, the 2017 RAO/CIS Offshore agenda will include a roundtable discussion, Safety and Effectiveness of Hydrocarbon Exploration in the Arctic and the Continental Shelf, which will feature keynote reports made by experts of the Russian Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Federal Service for the Supervision of Environment, Technology and Nuclear Management (Rostekhnadzor).

The 2017 RAO/CIS Offshore conference is organized by the Russian Government, Russian Ministry of Energy, Gazprom, Rosneft, Gazprom VNIIGAZ, Restec Exhibition Company, and Research Council on the Problems of Geology and Development of Oil, Gas and Coal Deposits of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
