Ministry for Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic submits Strategy for Development of Arctic Zone up to 2035 to government

The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic has submitted to the Government a draft Strategy for the Development of the Arctic Zone and Provision for National Security up to 2035.

"In 2019 the system of government administration was brought into conformity with the challenges in the development of the Arctic Zone: the membership and the powers of the state Arctic commission were revised, the powers to develop the Arctic were conferred on our ministry and it was decided to extend the competences of the institutions involved in developing the Far East to the Arctic Zone. Now, the documents on the strategic planning in the provision of Russia's national security are being revised," noted Alexander Kozlov, Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic.

He also pointed out that the draft document identifies the main areas and objectives of the development of the Russian Arctic Zone as well as its mechanisms, stages and expected results.
