Matviyenko: Draft law on Russian Arctic’s development being finalized by the government
The draft law On the Development of the Russian Arctic is undergoing final revision in the government, Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said, RIA Novosti reported.
"The document is in a good shape, it is currently being fine-tuned, and we hope that the government will submit it to the State Duma in October-November," Ms. Matviyenko said.
The draft law specifies terms for public-private partnerships and businesses, and offers privileges to northern regions, she added.
"The idea that the speedy socio-economic development of Arctic regions is a state priority has met with support," the Federation Council speaker said.
