Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs to present pre-school education project at Arctic Forum

The Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs will present its project entitled "Children of the Arctic: Pre-school Education" at the Arctic Forum. The project will promote recommendations for nomadic school teachers. Finland will co-organize the project, TASS reports.

"We will present the "Children of the Arctic: Pre-school Education" project, initiated by the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs, at the Arctic Forum. The project supports development of modern educational programs for nomadic schools based on Russian experience and international practices and modified to allow for the preservation of native languages and indigenous culture," Igor Barinov, head of the Federal Agency for Ethnic Affairs, told the agency.

During the first stage, the project organizers will collect and analyze data on existing practices and programs in pre-school education for Arctic indigenous peoples. It is expected that a roadmap for the first stage of the project will be signed at the Arctic Forum, the agency reports.
