Arctic 2020 international conference to take place in Moscow on February 19-20

On February 19-20, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will host the 5th international conference, The Arctic: Shelf Projects and Sustainable Development of the Regions (Arctic 2020).

The event will bring together over 400 people, among them representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, Russian and the world's largest oil and gas and service companies, equipment and gear manufacturers, representatives of leading research centers from various Russian regions, as well as Poland, Turkey, China, South Korea, Azerbaijan and Austria.

This year the participants in the conference will focus on the development of the natural resources potential of the Arctic zone; the role of the Arctic in meeting the global demand for energy sources; the legal framework for developing shelf projects; the development of LNG and the entire transport and service infrastructure of the region; international cooperation; the use of robots and drones in the Arctic; social responsibility to create good working and living conditions; and the industrial, environmental and energy security of the regions of the Far North and Far East.

Following the event, a resolution will be adopted which will include all proposals of the conference participants, and then will be submitted to the relevant ministries and agencies, as well as interested structures and organizations.

The organizers of the conference are System Consulting and the journal Regional Energy and Energy Saving, as well as the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, the Moscow Automobile and Road Construction State Technical University (MADI) with the support of the Russian Ministry for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.
