A White Crow’s Diary: A documentary about a female Soviet polar explorer to be screened in Moscow

A White Crow’s Diary, a documentary about one of the first female Soviet polar explorers, Nina Demme, will be screened at 6.30 p.m. on August 27 at the Rudomino All-Russia State Library for Foreign Literature.

Entrance is free upon a reservation.

The film features the life of one of the first female Soviet polar explorers and head of the polar expedition to Severnaya Zemlya, a participant in the wintering at one of the first Soviet polar stations in Tikhaya Bay on Franz Josef Land. A person with an extraordinary destiny, Nina Demme made a great contribution to research on the animal world of the North. The film was funded by a Russian Ministry of Culture grant with the organizational and instructional support of the Kostroma branch of the Russian Geographical Society.
