Russian-US expedition launched in the Arctic

The NABOS-2021 joint Russian-US scientific expedition was launched in the Arctic on board of Akademik Tryoshnikov research vessel.

The Russian-US expedition set off to the Arctic on the night of September 11. Its objective is research in the Laptev Sea, the East Siberian Sea and in the deep waters of the Arctic Ocean.

“Akademik Tryoshnikov research vessel departed the Norwegian port of Kirkenes with an international team of scientists from Russia, the United States, Japan and Norway on board,” says the report.

According to the organizers, one of the objectives of the expedition is to study climatic changes in the Arctic.
