Arctic military units receive new equipment for telemedicine

Modern clinical and diagnostic telemedical equipment to provide an expanded range of medical researches and tests  has been sent to military units in the Eastern Military District — on Wrangel Island and at Cape Schmidt, Head of the Eastern Military District's Press Service, Colonel Alexander Gordeyev told the TASS news agency.

"The most advanced medical complex includes a digital radiography machine, ultrasonic equipment, an electrocardiograph machine, biochemistry and hematology analyzers, plus a video linkup system. This equipment will help us expand the range of medical services available in the extreme north," Mr. Gordeyev said.

Mr. Gordeyev reminded TASS that military units deployed at Cape Schmidt and on Wrangel Island in the Eastern Military District were assigned combat duty on October 1, 2014 to protect Russia's air space.
