Russian Education and Science Ministry is ready to take part in building infrastructure for the Northern Sea Route

The Education and Science Ministry is ready to take part in the group charged with the development of the Northern Sea Route that was established by the Russian president, Minister Olga Vasilyeva told RIA Novosti.

Speaking at The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue on March 30, Vladimir Putin said that he had instructed the Government to establish a separate agency charged with the development of the Northern Sea Route.

According to RIA Novosti, the agencies under the jurisdiction of the Education and Science Ministry will take part in the project.

"I think they will participate if there is a relevant directive. We are members of the State Commission for Arctic Development. Naturally, I think that the Arctic development can't happen without our universities. We have young human resources. I think that education is absolutely one of the main areas of the Arctic development," the minister of Science and Education said.
