Rostechnadzor to complete inspections of Arctic companies by July 24

The Federal Service for Environmental, Technological, and Nuclear Supervision (Rostechnadzor) will inspect 426 oil and petroleum product storage companies in the Arctic. The inspections are scheduled to be completed by July 24.

"We [Rostechnadzor] together with the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources and the Emergencies Ministry as well as our colleagues from vertically integrated companies that work in the Arctic agreed that we would begin joint work to inspect sites designated to transport oil and petroleum products. We'll try to complete work at 426 hazardous production facilities by July 24," Rostechnadzor Deputy Head Alexei Ferapontov said at a meeting with President of Russia Vladimir Putin on cleaning up the fuel spill in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

It was noted that the inspections would begin simultaneously at all companies. At the first stage, inspectors will gather information from the companies' internal services.
