Arctic development summit held in Moscow

On February 24, the 2nd International Investment Arctic Summit, entitled Nanotechnology, the Military-Industrial Complex, Investment and the Arctic, took place in Moscow, Arktika-Info reports.

The event focused on the search for and introduction of breakthrough nano- and communication technologies, innovative industrial projects for Arctic regions, and the creation of a bank of ideas for research and industry to develop national intellectual capital.

Summit speakers featured Atomflot Deputy General Director Stanislav Golovinsky, Arkticheskiye Vedomosti newsletter Editor-in-Chief Alexander Ignatyev, Arctic Public Academy of Sciences President Valery Mitko, and Special Purpose Aviation and Flight Research Center First Deputy General Director Vadim Oleynikov, among others.

Special guests at the Arctic Summit included regional officials from Yakutia, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area and the Arkhangelsk Region, as well as international experts from Canada and France.

The summit will also result in recommendations for the Russian government, issue-specific scientific research centers, and investment companies.
