Russia’s Murmansk Region and Finland’s Northern Ostrobothnia agree on cooperation

The government of the Murmansk Region, the Council of Northern Ostrobothnia, the Regional Administration of Northern Finland and the Center for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment of North Ostrobothnia have signed a memorandum of understanding during the Barents Regional Council meeting in Oulu, Finland, according to the press service of the Murmansk governor.

"Cooperation with Finnish provinces has always been a priority for the Murmansk Region. We have developed this cooperation for years and consider it our duty to continue to develop it. I am confident that this positive tradition will be carried on in the future," Murmansk Governor Marina Kovtun said.

Under the memorandum, the Murmansk Region and Northern Ostrobothnia will focus on the economy, healthcare, education, culture and tourism.
