Russia announces termination of border cooperation agreement with Finland
The Russian Foreign Ministry has announced the termination of the agreement on border cooperation with Finland during a meeting with Finnish Ambassador Antti Helanterä.
A decision was made to terminate the agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Finland on promoting Russian-Finnish border cooperation, the Foreign Ministry wrote.
According to the ministry, the decision was made in response to Finland’s “confrontational actions,” including the facts of discrimination against Russian citizens based on their nationality as relates to issuing visas and cutting trade and economic ties.
