Book of unique Dolgan folk tales published in Krasnoyarsk Territory

A book of unique folk tales of the Dolgans, the indigenous people of Taimyr, has been published in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Director of the Taimyr Folk Art Center Lyubov Popova said in an interview with TASS.

"The Way to Eternity book has been published. It is a unique work of collectors of Dolgan folklore, uniting almost all genres of oral folklore of the Dolgans living in the Khatanga tundra. Most of the folk tales and stories, these rare examples of the northern peoples' folklore, are being published for the first time," she said.

The Dolgan folklore was collected and written down in the 1980s-1990s in the villages of Khatanga, Katyryk, Kheta, Zhdanikha, Kresty, Novorybnoye, Syndassko and Popigai. The book includes over 150 stories in Dolgan and Russian.
