On August 19‒21, 2022, in St. Petersburg, an event focusing on the city’s role in the exploration and development of the Arctic will take place at the Peter and Paul Fortress. The Arctic Salon, organized by the St. Petersburg Committee on Arctic Affairs, is part of an interactive exhibition, Journey to the Arctic,  which will open in St. Petersburg also on August 19 and run until September 4. Immersed in the atmosphere of polar expeditions, locals and tourists will be able to attend business and cultural events, including an equipment expo, film screenings and Arctic-themed walking tours. 

“I hope that all participants in the Arctic Salon will be able to discover something new and realize that the Arctic is just around the corner, while St. Petersburg plays a key role in its development,” German Shirokov, head of the St. Petersburg Committee on Arctic Affairs, commented.
