1984: Graduated from the Saint-Petersburg State Mining Institute (formerly Leningrad Mining Institute) with a degree in technology and the comprehensive mechanization of mineral deposit underground development.

1984-2002: Worked in the Voprkutaugol production association; started as a mine foreman and finished as its technical director.

2003-2004: Deputy CEO of the Prokopiyevsk Coal Company.

2004-2006: Head of the Coal Industry Department of the Federal Energy Agency.

December 2006: Appointed General Director of the Arktikugol State Trust. Honorable Miner. Holder of the Mining Glory title in three classes. Honorable Worker of the Coal Industry.
