The Murmansk Region allocates another 100 million rubles to implement the ‘Your Home in the Arctic’ program

In 2023, the Murmansk Region will allocate an additional 100 million rubles, at Governor Andrei Chibis’ initiative, for subsidies to those planning to build or buy a house or a prefabricated house under the ‘Your Home in the Arctic’ program.

“We should not discontinue the program right now given the high interest. We will continue to accept applications until July 1, and allocate an additional 100 million rubles for implementation this year to enable more residents to participate,” the regional government’s press service quotes him as saying.

According to Deputy Governor Alexei Lyzhenkov, the program is highly recognizable and popular, given its social focus both in the region and elsewhere. Implementing the program makes it possible to improve local residents’ housing conditions and has a positive effect on economic performance.

“Our estimates show that the economic effect from the issued certificates, with account taken for the forecast for housing construction and commissioning figures, will amount to 1.4 billion rubles, or almost 3 rubles in revenue per each ruble of state support,” Mr. Lyzhenkov said.

After July 1, the application period will be suspended, but will be resumed next year.
