Vladimir Putin thanks participants of the Arctic clean-up on Alexandra Land Island
President Vladimir Putin praised the results of the Arctic clean-up on Alexandra Land Island and thanked the participants, Interfax reported.
"You've done a huge amount of work under rather difficult conditions, of course, under the guidance of the Ministry [of Natural Resources and Environment]. I would like to thank you. <…> We managed to do everything that we planned to do," Putin said during a meeting with ecologists — employees of the Omega field base. The President stressed that such work should be continued.
The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, Natural Resources Minister Sergei Donskoi, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Special Presidential Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
