The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue Forum and Russian Arctic National Park to launch joint project

The organizing committee of The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue International Arctic Forum and the management of Russian Arctic National Park will launch a joint educational project in May. The project will include an Arctic volunteer online school and unique educational content with exclusive photo and video materials and online tours. The main platform of the project will be the official forum accounts on social media.

"We would like to make the Arctic a little closer and more real for everyone," said Oksana Poletimova, director of The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue Forum. "There are many inspiring ideas and projects ahead, and we are committed to long-term cooperation."

For his part, Alexander Kirilov, director of Russian Arctic National Park, noted: "As our park is located very far away from the mainland, many of our compatriots would never have visited the Franz Josef Land and Novaya Zemlya archipelagos. Now, thanks to the project, everyone will be able to see the Arctic as it is. "

The park staff has already shared with the project unique photos from the Omega polar station (Alexandra Land island, Franz Josef Land archipelago). The first pictures of polar bears taken in 2020 are of great value, as spring observations can give researchers a great deal of information about the life of these animals, because this is the time when female bears leave their den with cubs.
