Rosatom suggests depicting Arktika icebreaker on new ruble notes

Rosatom's Twitter account suggests that the new 200 and 2,000 ruble notes, due to be introduced in 2017, should use the image of the nuclear-powered icebreaker Arktika, launched on June 16.

"We are choosing the design of the new notes. Nuclear energy workers support Murmansk and the nuclear fleet, please vote with us," the account's message notes.

The Bank of Russia is holding the first stage of a nationwide vote for a symbol of modern Russia, to be used on the new notes, until July 28, 2016. The results of the third and final stage will be revealed on October 5.
