The Soyuzmultfilm studio is working on an animated series about Umka the polar bear cub. The series will largely focus on environmental issues.

“Umka will be an environment-centered series. This topic is extremely relevant right now, including animal conservation. We are going to cover these issues in the new Umka but subtly, with no preaching,” commented Soyuzmultfilm Board Chairperson Yulianna Slashchyova in an interview with the Govorit Moskva radio station.

A new episode about the polar bear cub last came out in December 2019.
