Norway to issue Arctic oil production licenses in second quarter of 2021

The Government of Norway is preparing to issue licenses for oil and gas prospecting operations in little-studied Arctic areas.

We are set to issue the licenses in the second quarter, reported Norway’s Minister of Petroleum and Energy Tina Bru.

In November 2020, the government of Norway announced its intention to issue licenses for drilling operations in nine regions with 136 blocks. Most of the planned drilling points are located in the Arctic sector of the Barents Sea.
